Heresthebest is an independent editorial site that publishes research-based decision guides. The goal is straightforward: help readers make a better choice when the choice costs time, money, or attention.
We focus on questions where a generic answer is not useful. "Best AI tool" depends on what you are doing. "Best European city" depends on what kind of trip you are taking. "Best learning platform" depends on what you are learning and how much you want to spend. Our work is to make those tradeoffs explicit instead of hiding them.
What we publish
We publish three formats:
Comparative guides. Side-by-side analyses of tools, platforms, or services using public pricing, documented features, and explicit selection criteria. Examples include AI tool comparisons, learning platform comparisons, and SaaS workflow stacks.
Decision frameworks. Articles that explain how to decide, not what to pick. Examples include trip budget rules, when a city pass actually pays back, and how to compare options without falling for hype.
Trend overviews. Periodic syntheses of what is changing in a sector, grounded in cited reports from institutional sources. Examples include AI workflow trends and travel planning trends.
We do not publish first-person travelogues, restaurant reviews, or hotel stays. Those formats require direct experience we do not pretend to have. If you want a personal review of a restaurant in Tokyo, we are not the right source for that.
How the site is organized
We focus on four editorial pillars:
- Technology – AI tools, software workflows, and decision frameworks for individuals and small teams.
- Business – Operations, client systems, and decision rules for small businesses and freelancers.
- Education – Online learning, skill building, and platform comparisons.
- Travel decisions – Calculators, break-even analyses, and decision rules for travel planning. Not destination reviews.
Other categories may appear over time, but only when we can publish to the same standard.
Editorial standards
Every article on the site follows the same standards:
- Cited sources. Each guide lists at least four primary sources, such as official documentation, regulatory bodies, manufacturer pricing pages, and institutional reports, at the bottom of the article.
- Verified pricing. Where we cite prices, we link to the official source and include the date the price was checked.
- Last updated dates. Every article shows a visible "Last updated" date. We update guides when material details change.
- No undisclosed sponsorships. We have no paid placements. We use affiliate links transparently – see How We Make Money below.
- AI as a tool, not as an author. We use AI tools for research synthesis, drafting assistance, and editorial review, the same way we use spreadsheets, search engines, and citation managers. Every article is researched, fact-checked, and substantively edited by our team before publication. The editorial responsibility for accuracy is ours.

How we make money
Heresthebest is supported by:
- Display advertising on some pages.
- Affiliate links for specific tools and services we recommend. When you click a link and complete a purchase, we may receive a commission. This never affects which tools or services we cover, or how we evaluate them.
- No sponsored posts. We do not publish paid placements or "sponsored content" disguised as editorial work.
If a recommendation is shaped by an affiliate relationship, we say so in the article. Where we recommend a service that has no affiliate program, or where we are not enrolled, we link to it the same way as anything else.
Corrections and contact
If you find a factual error in an article, please email support@heresthebest.com. We log corrections publicly on our Corrections Policy page and update the affected article with a brief note about what changed and when.

Independence
Heresthebest is independently owned and operated. We are not part of a larger media group. We have no investors directing editorial decisions. The editorial choices on this site reflect our own judgment about what is useful to readers, not what generates the most search traffic or affiliate revenue.
